Privacy Policy
We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, store, and protect information when you use MiniSeries Home (the "App"), and the choices and rights you may have.
Important Notice for Minors
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. If you are under 13, please stop using the App and do not provide any information to us.
1. Scope
This Policy applies to the Launcher features and short drama content features provided by the App, as well as related analytics, attribution, advertising, and push notifications. This Policy does not apply to services provided by third parties through the App (for example, third-party ads, third-party content services, or third-party websites/pages). When you use third-party services, their privacy policies will apply.
2. Information We Collect
We collect and process information only to the extent necessary to provide the App’s functionality (Launcher + short drama content + ads + analytics/attribution + push notifications).
2.1 Information you provide
The current version of the App generally does not require account registration and does not require you to submit identifying information such as your name, phone number, or email address. Your interactions in the short drama features (such as likes and favorites) may create related records; by default these records are stored locally on your device (see Sections 3 and 8).
2.2 Information collected automatically
When you use the App, we and/or our third-party SDKs may automatically collect certain information for app operation, analytics, troubleshooting, and ad delivery, including:
- Device & app information (e.g., device model, OS version, app version, language/time zone, screen resolution).
- Network information (e.g., network status, carrier, IP address) for communication, basic risk control, and coarse region inference.
- Log, crash & performance data (e.g., crash logs, performance metrics, feature usage statistics) to improve stability and user experience.
- Advertising-related identifiers and events, including the Advertising ID (AD_ID) and ad impression/click metrics for ad delivery, frequency capping, fraud prevention, measurement, and attribution.
- Push notification token (via Firebase Cloud Messaging/FCM) to deliver notifications if enabled.
2.3 Launcher “app visibility” information (important)
To provide core Launcher features (app drawer, search, quick launch, shortcuts, and recommendations), the App identifies launchable apps on your device (e.g., app name, package name, launch entry information). In general, this information is used for local display and management and is not required to be uploaded to our servers. However, third-party advertising/analytics SDKs may process certain device identifiers or related information for fraud prevention, attribution, or ad optimization, subject to their own privacy policies.
3. How We Use Information
We may use information for the following purposes:
- Provide and maintain core features (Launcher app management; short drama content access; local watch history/progress; local likes/favorites).
- Improve user experience and app stability (analytics, crash diagnosis, performance and compatibility improvements).
- Advertising delivery and measurement (personalized or non-personalized ads depending on your settings, region, and SDK policies; frequency control, fraud prevention, and attribution).
- Push notifications (content updates and functional notices) if you grant notification permission; you can disable notifications in system settings at any time.
4. Short Drama Content Provider & Content Services (including HTTP notice)
4.1 Content source
Short drama/video content shown in the App (including video streams, covers, titles, descriptions, and promotional assets) is provided and/or licensed by a third-party content provider: BYTEDANCE PTE. LTD (the "Content Provider"). We provide content aggregation, entry points, playback access, and interaction features within the App.
4.2 Servers and network requests
When you browse, load, or play short drama content, the App may send network requests to the Content Provider’s servers to fetch content metadata and/or playback resources. Content Provider domain: toblog.tobsnssdk.com (endpoint provided as http://toblog.tobsnssdk.com). Using short drama features requires an internet connection and will involve necessary network communication data (e.g., IP address, request timestamps, network status) for content delivery and playback stability.
4.3 Important: HTTP (unencrypted) transmission notice
Because the Content Provider currently serves this short drama service over HTTP (unencrypted transmission), there is a theoretical risk of interception, eavesdropping, or tampering during network transmission—especially on untrusted networks such as public Wi‑Fi. We cannot unilaterally upgrade the Content Provider’s server to HTTPS.
To reduce risk within our control, we will take reasonable measures such as:
- Minimizing transmission: requests are made only when necessary to provide short drama content, and we strive to reduce the amount of identifiable data included.
- Avoiding highly sensitive data over this HTTP path: we do not transmit passwords or payment information through this third-party HTTP link.
- User choice: we recommend using short drama features on trusted networks; you may stop using short drama features or disconnect from the internet if you do not want such requests to occur.
4.4 Data boundary for short drama features (as implemented in the App)
- Watch history/progress, likes, and favorites are stored locally on your device by default.
- We do NOT transmit your Advertising ID (AD_ID) to the Content Provider as part of short drama content requests.
- The Content Provider may still receive necessary network communication data (e.g., IP address, request time, network status, and content resource identifiers) to deliver and play content.
4.5 Copyright & complaints
Copyright in short drama content generally belongs to the Content Provider and/or relevant rights holders. If you believe any content in the App infringes your lawful rights (e.g., copyright or publicity rights), please contact us using the details in Section 11 and provide supporting documentation. We will handle requests in accordance with applicable laws.
5. Permissions We Use
The App may request or declare the following permissions (availability may vary by Android version and device):
Network
- android.permission.INTERNET – to load content, request resources, load ads, analytics/attribution, and push services.
- android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE – to detect connectivity status and optimize loading and playback.
Notifications
- android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS – to send notifications (you can disable in system settings).
Advertising ID
- com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID – for ad delivery, frequency capping, fraud prevention, measurement, and attribution (may be used by ad SDKs).
Launcher settings/capabilities
- android.permission.WRITE_SETTINGS / android.permission.READ_SETTINGS – to read/write certain settings related to Launcher experience (behavior may vary across OEM ROMs).
- com.android.launcher.permission.READ_SETTINGS / WRITE_SETTINGS and ${applicationId}.permission.READ_SETTINGS / WRITE_SETTINGS – for Launcher settings/config compatibility on some devices.
- android.permission.SET_WALLPAPER_HINTS – to adapt wallpaper display hints for Launcher UI.
- android.permission.EXPAND_STATUS_BAR – for status bar related interactions (only when the feature is used and to the extent necessary).
App visibility & app management
- Manifest <queries> (MAIN/LAUNCHER) – to discover launchable apps for the app drawer, search, and quick launch.
- android.permission.REQUEST_DELETE_PACKAGES – to request app uninstall when you explicitly initiate an uninstall action.
6. Third-Party SDKs & Sharing
We integrate third-party SDKs to provide advertising, analytics, attribution, and push notifications. These third parties may process certain data in accordance with their own privacy policies (e.g., Advertising ID, device information, IP address, crash logs, ad events, and push tokens). We do not sell your personal information, but we may share information as necessary to provide these services.
